VOLUNTEERING AND FUNDRAISING

Volunteering is a great way to be a role model and an inspiration to our children. We can teach our children the true meaning of teamwork.  ARA needs you to fulfill this obligation to the team.  The success of our program is contingent on the parents.

Volunteer hours are available for each of the opportunities below.  Each rower’s family is required to complete 10 hours per season. Two of those 10 hours must be completed by assisting in the food tent.

Volunteer Opportunities

Food Tent Committee – helps to stage the ARA food tent and provide food for rowers and families at regattas.

Land Supervision at the Boathousehelps with the supervision of rowers and coxswains at the boathouse prior to practice.

Recruitment – helps with activities, such as recruitment drives and open houses to recruit new members..

Maintenance – helps with general maintenance of all rowing, trailer, and food tent equipment.

Fundraising – helps with securing donations and facilitating fundraising opportunities for rowers and families.

Chaperoning – helps supervise rowers and coxswains at overnight hotel stays for regattas.

Sales Team – helps to gain corporate sponsors

2017-2018 SEASON FUNDRAISERS

Arlington Crew offers both individual and group fundraisers.

Individual Fundraisers – this benefits the individual rower. All of the profits will go into the rower’s individual account. This money may be used for registration, hotels, uniforms, and other Arlington Crew expenses.

Group Fundraiser– this will benefit the entire organization. All profits earned will go towards new equipment and organization expenditures.

We have three very exciting fundraisers going on right now.

1. ‘Fall Back’ Into Crew’ Fundraiser at Outback Steak House. This will take place on September 16th 11a-1p at the Outback in Wappingers Falls.  The cost per ticket is $20 and includes an appetizer, a salad, an entrée, and a dessert. (Group)

2. Second Annual 50/50 Holiday Raffle – these tickets are $10 each and the winner may potentially win up to $5,000 in cash. The drawing will be December 1, 2017. Please encourage friends and family to purchase tickets. (Group)

3. Gertrude Hawk Chocolate – this is a year-round fundraiser. (Individual)
